Professional liability insurance
Astera Legal maintains a professional liability insurance with HDI Versicherung AG. Subject to the below limitations, the territorial scope of the insurance coverage applies worldwide for liability claims in connection with the counselling on and working with European law. The insurance does not cover (i) liability claims arising in connection with legal advice issued from offices located outside the Federal Republic of Germany, (ii) claims based on advice issued regarding non-european law or actions before courts outside of Europe and (iii) liability claims relating to actions to the extent (A) the actions are taken/ the advice is issued by offices or partner firms located outside the Federal Republic of Germany as well as (B) punitive or exemplary damages or claims based on damages to personal honour, insults or discrimination.

Out-of-court dispute resolution and online/consumer dispute resolution
In the event of disputes between client and lawyer, there is the possibility of out-of-court dispute resolution at the competent bar association, i.e. the Munich Bar Association.
